Sadio Mané (born 10 April 1992) is a Senegalese professional footballer who plays as a winger for Liverpool in the Premier League and for the Senegal national team. Mané finished fourth for the 2019 Ballon d’Or, and he was fifth in 2019 and fourth in 2020 for the Best FIFA Men’s Player award.
Mané began his professional career at the age of 19 with Ligue 2 club Metz, but he left after a single season to join Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg in 2012 for a fee of €4 million, winning the league and cup domestic double in 2013–14.
Mané later that summer joined English club Southampton for a club record fee of £11.8 million. In 2015, he set a new Premier League record for the fastest hat-trick, scoring three goals in 176 seconds in a 6–1 win over Aston Villa.
Mané signed for fellow Premier League side Liverpool in 2016, for a reported fee of £34 million. He helped the side reach back-to-back UEFA Champions League Finals in 2018 and 2019, winning the latter.

Mané was born in the Senegalese town of Bambali, Sédhiou. He pursued a football career despite his father, an imam, forbidding him from doing so as a child; however, his father died when he was seven years old. He later fled his home village and went to Dakar at the age of 15 to pursue his dream of becoming a footballer, and he has been supported by his family ever since.
He was spotted by scouts in 2009 while playing for M’Bour and later referred to Génération Foot, where he helped them to promotion to the second division in the 2010–11 season.
Mané joined Metz, which had a partnership with Génération Foot, in 2011. On 14 January 2012, he made his professional debut as a substitute for Kévin Diaz in the 75th minute of a 0–1 home defeat against Bastia in Ligue 2.
