Dr. Simon Harry, the Federation’s Statistician-General and Chief Executive of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), died on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.

He was born in Lishin – Jengre, Plateau, on March 15, 1965.
From 1974 until 1980, Harry attended L.E.A. Primary School in Tuddai, Kaduna State.
From 1980 to 1985, he attended Amo Community Secondary School in Katako Jengre, where he received his first school leaving certificate and the West African Examination Council (WAEC) diplomas.
Harry attended Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria from 1987 to 1990 and earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Economics with honors.
He graduated from the University with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Statistics.
